The Sandman, Vol. 2: The Doll's House (The Sandman #2) - Neil Gaiman, Malcolm Jones III, Chris Bachalo, Mike Dringenberg I think this might be my favorite volume. The recurring themes--glass hearts, Red Riding Hood, the maiden/mother/crone image, dolls--are great, and it contains two of my favorite single issues in all of Sandman: "Tales in the Sand" and "Men of Good Fortune."

This is the re-colored edition, and it's generally stunning, but I admit I was disappointed that the glass shards in the desert were no longer that beautiful shade of green. I suppose new readers won't notice, but I missed the old color.
